Ortiz-Griffin II: Breakdown

Ooooooooooo Tito Ortiz versus Forrest griffin….I know you want the breakdown and so do I so here we go!

Ground game: Depends which way you favor….Forrest is clearly good from his back with his Jiu-Jitsu background. But Tito is dominant from the top, I give Tito the edge here.

Standup: Clearly this is a major advantage for Forrest. His Kickboxing skills are top tier in the sport and when allowed to fight the way he likes to grind out things, are unstoppable. While Tito is an effective striker, he’s not explosive and has, in the past, left himself wide open after attempting to throw a bomb. Advantage Forrest

Clinch game: The only one I have ever truly seen throw a knee, is Forrest, this is a draw I doubt Knees will be used in this fight. Draw

Smarts: Tito clearly has the advantage in this department but, don’t discount Forrest. Advantage Tito

Heart: Forrest is the Rocky of MMA. Nuff said. HUGE ADVANTAGE Forrest
I predict Forrest will dominate an older and less dominant Tito in an easy fight for him.

In parting…

All I have to say is Antonio “Rogerio” Nougeira is a little woman, and if he pusses out after his fight this Saturday I will hunt him down. ‘Nuff said.

Concentration is a fighter's friend

Ahhh concentration over strength.

Everybody hears that crap all the time and thinks “yeah, whatever.”

Sad to say this, but it’s true.

Technique in fighting is much more important than raw strength. I am not the biggest nor the strongest man on this earth but my technique is good enough where, if need be, I can knock out someone out who weighs up to 50 pounds heavier than I.

Also technique really allows the strategic part of your game to play out, if you do not have this strategic part of fighting, then it’s not a fight, its a brawl.

I really do not like brawling even though I recommend it for fighters who are outmatched in the boxing skill when it comes to ability levels. It’s very easy to just press a boxer into making a mistake than to pick him apart. Boxers, a lot of the time, want to stand back and throw two or three punch combos to find openings when, in reality, you have to keep him busy and force him to start throwing stupid punches to make him make a mistake.

Chris Lytle is a boxer most commonly found to brawl if you talk him into it.
Speaking of boxing, I thought I would continue my thoughts on it.

I love how people call MMA human cockfighting but boxing matches lead to much more brain damage than MMA. It’s doctor proven and mother approved that MMA is better for you because there is more large blows instead of a million smaller blows.

So just shut up Lou Dibella, your sport’s dead and let me say this: I have top-tier boxing skills and boxers think us MMA guys cant stand with you guys. I challenge any boxer near my weight.

I will fight you in any ring, any time. Bring it.
