So I am here to breakdown UFC 107.
First lets start with my Stefan Struve versus Paul Buentello
Stefan, you’re my boy, you know that. This will be a tough fighter for you though buddy. I see the striking being a clear advantage for Buentello. I know you Stef, you got the skills….
Stefan Struve wins by submission cable choke. Submission of the night.
Jon Fitch versus Mike “I am hear to take my ass whooping and then go home “ Pierce
Fitch has a clear advantage in every position in this fight in my opinion. Everyone forgets Fitch is a former Purdue wrestling captain and can still throw people around quite easily.
I expect Jon to use his reach standing up and fight smart and Grapple even smarter. People forget because of that fight with GSP that this guy is one of the winningest fighters in UFC history and unfortunately Mike Pierce has nothing but takedowns… this may be funny!
Jon Fitch wins by absolute domination and not in the sexy or kinda cute way.
Kenny “KenFlo” Florian vs Clay Guida.
This is what I call a storm versus a technician. Guida is absolutely insane This guy may actually like getting hit in the face. Just sayin’. He always tends to be lulled into a fight though, and if he does that against Kenny, Kenny will have one of those moments that you hear on UFC Undisputed a million times during your career mode that you can quote a millions times…ooooo the sound of Joe Rogan’s voice…
Kenflo via KO Fight of the night honors and KO of the night
Frank Mir versus Cheick Kongo.
If Cheick Kongo wins this fight, he better take a lotto ticket whilst he is in Memphis. I see Kongo trying to keep this fight up and then getting slammed on his head. Cheick, don’t put your hands up like you did against Velasquez, that’s an armbar. For all of you who think Mir has a big mouth, he pretty much backs it up.
The main event: B.J. Penn against Diego Sanchez to defend his belt
I think maybe Diego has bit off a little more than he wants in this fight.
Standup:
I think BJ is much faster and much more accurate than Diego who is extremely inaccurate.
Advantage PENN. How much? A lot
Ground game:
This one is a bit of confusion for me. Do you take the guy who when on top is very very good? Or do you take the guy who is questionably not just the best at Jiu Jitsu in MMA but the best in the WORLD? Oh derrrrrrrrrrrr my bad….
Advantage BJ
Intangibles:
Most fighters fight for money. BJ’s family is one of the richest in the world. BJ fights for greatness. Yeah, ‘nuff said.
Advantage BJ
I don’t know if I can really predict this one without sounding like an idiot with the power of Sanchez possibly catching a lucky shot.
I pick BJ by submission in the fourth via rear naked choke.
